2nd Battalion, 22nd infantry

The 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, known as "Triple Deuce," was originally constituted in 1861 and has served in numerous major conflicts throughout U.S. history. The unit fought with distinction in the Civil War, World War II, and the Vietnam War, where it earned multiple commendations for valor. In more recent history, the battalion deployed in support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, continuing its legacy of service and sacrifice. Today, 2-22 Infantry remains an integral part of the 10th Mountain Division, upholding its motto, "Deeds, not Words."
