2nd armored division band

The 2nd Armored Division Band was originally activated in 1940 at Fort Benning, Georgia, as part of the newly formed 2nd Armored Division. The band accompanied the division throughout World War II, providing music and morale support during major campaigns in North Africa, Sicily, and across Western Europe, including the Normandy invasion and the push into Germany. After the war, the band continued to serve during the division’s occupation duties and later during the Cold War period in Germany. The 2nd Armored Division Band remained an important part of the division’s esprit de corps until the division's deactivation in 1995, after which the band was also inactivated.
