The 2nd Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment ("2-32 INF") and 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment ("1-32 INF") are storied units of the United States Army with distinguished lineages. Originally constituted in 1916, the 32nd Infantry Regiment has served in major conflicts from World War II—where it fought in the Aleutians and the Pacific—to the Korean War and the Vietnam War, earning numerous campaign streamers and decorations. In more recent history, both battalions have been elements of the 10th Mountain Division, deploying to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
