The 28th Signal Battalion was originally constituted in the Army of the United States on 18 October 1927 and later activated for service during World War II. During the war, the battalion provided critical communications support for the 28th Infantry Division across the European Theater, facilitating command and control during key operations including the Normandy Campaign and the Battle of the Bulge. After the war, the 28th Signal Battalion continued to serve in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, supporting both state and federal missions. Today, the unit remains dedicated to providing reliable communications and information systems in support of military operations at home and abroad.
