The 287th Military Police Company, known as the "Peacekeepers," was constituted in the U.S. Army during World War II and has served with distinction in a variety of missions worldwide. Throughout the Cold War, the unit was stationed in Europe, providing law enforcement, security, and force protection, particularly in Germany as part of the U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR). During the Global War on Terror, the 287th MP Company deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, conducting convoy security, detainee operations, and base defense. The company continues to serve as a vital asset, embodying the Military Police Corps' motto, "Assist, Protect, Defend."
