The 2nd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment (2/8 Cav) is a distinguished unit of the United States Army with roots dating back to its activation in 1916. Throughout World War II, 2/8 Cav served in the Pacific Theater as part of the 1st Cavalry Division, participating in campaigns in the Admiralty Islands, Leyte, and Luzon.
