2:77th AR

The 2nd Battalion, 77th Armored Regiment (2/77th AR) traces its lineage to the 77th Tank Battalion, originally constituted in 1941. The unit saw distinguished service during World War II, participating in campaigns across North Africa and Europe. Reactivated and reorganized over the decades, the 2/77th served with valor in conflicts such as the Vietnam War and later in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
