The 265th Field Artillery Battalion (FA Bn) was an American artillery unit that served in the European Theater during World War II. Activated in 1943, the battalion was equipped with 105mm howitzers and provided crucial fire support to infantry and armored divisions. During the campaign in Germany in 1945, the 265th FA Bn participated in the drive across the Rhine River and contributed to the liberation of several towns. The battalion earned commendations for its accuracy and effectiveness in suppressing enemy positions, and was inactivated after the end of hostilities in Europe.
