The 260th Military Intelligence Battalion was constituted on 14 July 1950 in the Organized Reserve Corps as Headquarters, 260th Military Intelligence Service Battalion, and activated at Washington, D.C. Over the decades, the unit was reorganized and redesignated multiple times, reflecting the evolving needs of Army intelligence operations. The battalion has provided critical intelligence support for both homeland defense and overseas missions, including counterintelligence and collection operations. Today, the 260th Military Intelligence Battalion continues to serve as a vital component of the U.S. Army Reserve, supporting national security through advanced intelligence capabilities.
