The 2nd Battalion, 5th Field Artillery Regiment (2-5th FA) is one of the oldest active units in the U.S. Army, tracing its lineage back to 1776 as part of Alexander Hamilton’s original company of artillery. Throughout its distinguished history, the unit has participated in numerous major conflicts, including the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Mexican-American War, the Civil War, both World Wars, and more recent operations in the Middle East. Known as “Hamilton’s Own,” 2-5th FA has provided critical fire support in both offensive and defensive operations across the globe.
