The 2nd Battalion, 54th Infantry Regiment (2/54th Infantry) has a distinguished history within the United States Army. Constituted in 1917, the regiment served with distinction in both World War I and World War II, participating in major campaigns across Europe. In the postwar era, the unit underwent several reactivations and reorganizations, ultimately becoming part of the Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). Today, 2/54th Infantry is stationed at Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), Georgia, where it serves as a Basic Combat Training battalion, preparing new soldiers for service in the U.S. Army.
