The 22nd Replacement Battalion was a key administrative and personnel unit in the U.S. Army during World War II. Activated in the early 1940s, its primary mission was to receive, process, and assign replacement troops to front-line combat units in the European Theater of Operations. The battalion ensured that divisions sustained their fighting strength by efficiently integrating new soldiers into depleted units. After significant service in support of Allied operations, the battalion was inactivated following the end of the war.
