The 2240th Assault Helicopter Company was a United States Army aviation unit established during the Vietnam War. Tasked with providing air mobility, close air support, and troop transport, the company operated primarily UH-1 “Huey” helicopters in support of ground operations. Throughout its deployment, the 2240th conducted numerous combat assaults, resupply missions, and medical evacuations under hazardous conditions. The unit earned commendations for its effectiveness and bravery, playing a crucial role in enhancing the operational capabilities of U.S. and allied ground forces during the conflict.
