The 21st Army Band, also known as the "Governor's Own," is a distinguished military music unit within the West Virginia Army National Guard. Organized in 1929, the band has provided musical support for military ceremonies, community events, and official functions for nearly a century. Throughout its history, the 21st Army Band has performed for presidents, governors, and visiting dignitaries, building a reputation for excellence and professionalism. The unit continues its mission today, fostering morale, esprit de corps, and strong civilian-military relations across West Virginia and beyond.
