The 214th Combat Aviation Battalion (CAB), known by the callsign "Bearcat," was a distinguished aviation unit of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Activated in 1967, the 214th CAB was based at Bearcat Base, near Bien Hoa, and provided critical air mobility, assault, and support missions throughout III Corps Tactical Zone. The unit operated a mix of helicopters, including UH-1 Hueys and CH-47 Chinooks, playing a vital role in troop transport, medevac, and resupply operations. The 214th CAB earned a reputation for its effectiveness in supporting ground operations and contributed significantly to the overall mission until its inactivation in the early 1970s.
