205th Infantry

The 205th Infantry was a unit of the United States Army formed during World War II as part of the infantry expansion to meet wartime demands. Activated in 1943, the unit underwent intensive training before being deployed to the European Theater, where it participated in several key campaigns, including the Rhineland and Central Europe operations. The 205th distinguished itself through its resilience during river crossings and in urban combat as Allied forces advanced into Germany.
