The 204th Military Intelligence Battalion (204th MI BN) was originally constituted on 29 January 1952 in the Regular Army and activated on 1 March 1952 at Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Throughout its history, the battalion has provided critical intelligence support, including signals and human intelligence, to Army commanders worldwide. The 204th MI BN is particularly noted for its deployment during Operation Iraqi Freedom, where it conducted tactical intelligence collection and analysis. Today, the battalion remains a vital part of U.S. Army intelligence operations, continuing its legacy of excellence in support of national defense.
