2-18 Infantry

The 2nd Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment (2-18 IN) boasts a distinguished history dating back to its formation in 1861. The unit earned battle honors in major conflicts, including the Civil War, World War I, and, notably, World War II, where it fought in North Africa, Sicily, Normandy, and the Battle of the Bulge as part of the famed 1st Infantry Division. During the Cold War, 2-18 IN served in Europe and later participated in peacekeeping operations in the Balkans.
