The 1st Logistical Command was a vital U.S. Army support unit activated in 1965 to oversee logistics operations during the Vietnam War. Headquartered in Saigon, the unit managed supply distribution, transportation, maintenance, and medical support for American and allied forces across South Vietnam. Its mission ensured continuous delivery of food, ammunition, fuel, and equipment, often under hazardous and challenging conditions. The 1st Logistical Command played a crucial role in sustaining combat operations until its deactivation in 1970, when its responsibilities were gradually transferred to South Vietnamese forces as part of Vietnamization.
