The 1st Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment (1-1 AVN), known as "Dragon Battalion," is a distinguished aviation unit within the 1st Infantry Division (1ID) of the United States Army. Originally constituted during the Vietnam War era, the battalion has provided critical aviation support, including reconnaissance, air assault, and logistical missions. Over the years, 1-1 Aviation has deployed in support of major operations, such as Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
