195th Assualt Helicopter Company

The 195th Assault Helicopter Company, known as the "Skychiefs," was activated in 1967 during the Vietnam War. Equipped primarily with UH-1 Huey helicopters, the company provided air assault, troop transport, and logistical support missions throughout the III Corps Tactical Zone. The unit participated in numerous major operations, including providing critical mobility and fire support for infantry units engaged in combat. The 195th earned commendations for its valor and effectiveness before being inactivated in 1971 as part of the U.S. troop drawdown in Vietnam.
