The 186th/204th Quartermaster Detachment is a U.S. Army Reserve unit specializing in water purification and distribution operations. Originally activated to provide critical logistical support, the unit has played a vital role in ensuring troops have access to clean water in both training and combat environments. Notably, the 204th Quartermaster Detachment suffered heavy casualties during the Gulf War in the 1991 Scud missile attack on Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, marking one of the deadliest days for U.S. forces during the conflict. Over the years, the combined legacy of the 186th and 204th Quartermaster Detachments continues to exemplify dedication, resilience, and excellence in logistical support.
