The 181st Infantry Brigade is a United States Army unit with roots tracing back to the early 20th century. Originally constituted in 1921 as part of the Army Reserve, the brigade was activated and inactivated several times throughout its history. During World War II, its elements served as part of the 91st Infantry Division, participating in campaigns in Italy. In recent years, the 181st Infantry Brigade has been headquartered at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, where it plays a vital role in training and preparing Army Reserve and National Guard units for deployment.
