The 173rd Assault Helicopter Company (AHC), also known as the "Robin Hoods," was activated in 1966 during the Vietnam War. The unit provided critical air mobility, troop transport, and close air support missions throughout the conflict, operating primarily in the Central Highlands of South Vietnam. Renowned for their bravery, the 173rd AHC participated in major operations such as the Tet Offensive and supported numerous infantry units, including the 4th Infantry Division. The company was deactivated in 1972, leaving a legacy of valor and sacrifice among U.S. Army aviation units.
