The 15th Medical Battalion was originally constituted on 23 March 1925 in the Regular Army as the 1st Medical Squadron. It was reorganized and redesignated several times, becoming the 15th Medical Battalion in 1949, and assigned to the 1st Cavalry Division. The battalion played a critical role in providing medical support during major conflicts, including the Korean War, Vietnam War, and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Throughout its history, the 15th Medical Battalion has been recognized for its dedication to saving lives on and off the battlefield, maintaining a reputation for excellence in combat medical care.
