The 1st Battalion, 487th Field Artillery (1/487th FA), is a distinguished unit of the Hawaii Army National Guard (HIARNG). Originally organized in Hawaii, the unit traces its lineage to earlier Hawaiian artillery formations and has served both state and federal missions. Over its history, the 1/487th FA has supported various operations, including disaster response in Hawaii and overseas deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. The battalion continues to provide critical fire support and artillery capabilities, upholding a proud tradition of service to both the state of Hawaii and the United States Army.
