The 135th Assault Helicopter Company (AHC) was a distinguished U.S. Army aviation unit formed during the Vietnam War. Activated in 1967, the 135th AHC was unique for its joint composition of U.S. Army and Royal Australian Navy personnel, operating under the call sign “EMUs.” The unit provided critical air assault, troop transport, and support missions throughout the Mekong Delta, participating in numerous major operations. The 135th AHC remained active in Vietnam until 1971, earning a reputation for bravery and innovation under challenging combat conditions.
