The 1306th Engineer Regiment was a United States Army unit activated during World War II to provide essential engineering support in combat operations. Formed in 1943, the regiment was deployed to the European Theater, where it played a critical role in constructing bridges, clearing obstacles, and repairing vital infrastructure following the D-Day landings. The 1306th supported the advance of Allied forces through France and into Germany, often working under enemy fire to ensure the mobility and supply lines of frontline troops. After the war, the regiment was deactivated as part of the general postwar demobilization of U.S. forces.
