The 1st Battalion, 145th Infantry Regiment (1-145 IN) is a historic unit of the Ohio Army National Guard, tracing its lineage back to the American Civil War as part of the 7th Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The unit saw extensive combat in both World Wars, serving with distinction in Europe during World War I and in the Pacific Theater during World War II as part of the 37th Infantry Division. In more recent history, the 1-145th Infantry has participated in deployments for Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, supporting both combat and peacekeeping missions. The battalion continues its legacy today, focusing on infantry training, readiness, and support to both state and federal missions.
