READINESS MANAGEMENT GROUP

• Origins: The Readiness Management Group (RMG) was established on 1 March 1978 as the Air Reserve Personnel Center (ARPC) Detachment 12, later redesignated as the RMG in 2005. • Mission: The RMG’s primary mission is to manage and support Air Force Individual Reservists (IRs) assigned to active duty organizations worldwide, enhancing overall Air Force readiness. • Scope: The RMG manages over 8,000 Individual Reservists, including both Air Reserve Technicians and Individual Mobilization Augmentees (IMAs), making it one of the largest groups of its kind in the U.S. Air Force Reserve. • Worldwide Impact: RMG-supported reservists are assigned to more than 50 major commands and agencies, serving in over 2,000 duty locations around the globe. • Key Role in Mobilization: The RMG is critical in ensuring that reservists are ready to mobilize rapidly in times of need, such as during national emergencies or large-scale deployments. • Support for Unique Skills: The RMG manages reservists with specialized skills, including intelligence, medical, cyber, and logistics, providing essential support in both peacetime and conflict. • Innovation: The RMG pioneered the use of virtual management and support systems for its geographically separated reservists, setting a standard for remote personnel management. • Role in Operations: RMG reservists have supported every major U.S. military operation since its inception, including Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. • Headquarters: The RMG is headquartered at Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado, providing centralized management and support across the Air Force. • Recognition: The RMG and its members have received numerous awards for excellence, including Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards for their vital contributions to national defense and readiness.
