**MACV HQ SURG** refers to the Headquarters Surgeon of the Military Assistance Command, Vietnam (MACV), the principal United States military command in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War (1962–1973). The MACV HQ SURG was responsible for overseeing all medical operations, including the coordination of medical support, casualty evacuation, and healthcare services for U.S. and allied military personnel in the theater. The office played a crucial role in developing and implementing medical policies, disease prevention programs, and trauma care protocols under the challenging conditions of the Vietnam conflict.
