Ground Electronics Division:AFRS

The Ground Electronics Division/AFRS (Air Force Radar Stations) was a specialized unit within the United States Air Force responsible for the operation and maintenance of ground-based radar installations during the Cold War era. Established in the late 1940s, the division played a critical role in the early warning and air defense network, monitoring North American airspace for potential Soviet bomber incursions.
