Air Force Materiel Command

The Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) was activated on July 1, 1992, following the consolidation of the Air Force Logistics Command and Air Force Systems Command. AFMC is headquartered at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, and is responsible for research, development, testing, acquisition, and sustainment of Air Force weapon systems.
