The Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) is a major command of the United States Air Force, officially established on February 17, 1997, though its roots trace back to the formation of Air Force Reserve units in 1948. The AFRC provides operational capability, strategic depth, and surge capacity as a critical component of the Total Force, supporting both peacetime and wartime missions. Throughout its history, AFRC units have participated in key conflicts, including the Korean War, Vietnam War, Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom.
