96 OMS

The 96th Organizational Maintenance Squadron (96 OMS) was a United States Air Force unit responsible for the maintenance and readiness of assigned aircraft and equipment. Activated during the Cold War era, the squadron was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, as part of the 96th Bombardment Wing. The 96 OMS played a critical support role for the unit’s fleet of B-52 Stratofortress bombers and KC-135 Stratotankers, ensuring mission capability through rigorous inspection and repair.
