The 6917th Security Group was a United States Air Force signals intelligence unit established during the Cold War. Activated in the early 1950s, it was primarily based at San Vito dei Normanni Air Station, Italy. The group's mission focused on intercepting and analyzing communications from potential adversaries, supporting both national intelligence objectives and tactical operations in Europe and the Mediterranean.
