6911th ESS

The 6911th Electronic Security Squadron (ESS) was a United States Air Force unit specializing in signals intelligence (SIGINT) operations during the Cold War. Activated in 1974, the squadron was based at Hahn Air Base, West Germany, and played a crucial role in monitoring Warsaw Pact communications and electronic emissions. The 6911th ESS worked closely with NATO allies, providing critical intelligence to support both tactical and strategic decision-making.
