The **555th Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS)**, known as the "Triple Nickel," was activated during World War II and later distinguished itself during the Vietnam War as part of the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing. Flying F-4 Phantom II aircraft, the squadron became one of the highest scoring MiG-killer units, earning a reputation for air combat excellence.
