515th Air Mobility Operations Wing

• The 515th AMOW was activated on October 1, 2009, at Hickam Air Force Base in Hawaii. • The wing is responsible for providing en route transportation, aerial port operations, and command and control for all Department of Defense aircraft transiting the Pacific Theater. • The 515th AMOW is the only Air Mobility Operations Wing in the Pacific region. • The wing supports humanitarian missions, disaster relief operations, and military exercises throughout the region. • The 515th AMOW has approximately 1,200 personnel assigned to units across multiple locations in the Pacific region. • The wing has a long history of supporting operations in the Pacific, including the Korean War, Vietnam War, and recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. • The 515th AMOW operates a fleet of C-17 Globemaster III and KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft to support its mission. • In 2010, the wing played a key role in supporting relief efforts following the devastating earthquake in Haiti. • The 515th AMOW has received numerous awards and commendations for its performance and professionalism in support of global operations. • The wing continues to play a vital role in ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of US military forces in the Pacific region.
