The 512th Troop Carrier Wing was established in 1949 as part of the Air Force Reserve, originally stationed at Reading Municipal Airport, Pennsylvania. Activated for the Korean War, the Wing provided vital airlift capabilities, transporting troops, equipment, and supplies. Over the years, the unit underwent several redesignations, including becoming the 512th Military Airlift Wing, reflecting changes in its mission and aircraft. Today, as the 512th Airlift Wing based at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, it continues to support global mobility operations as an associate unit of the Air Force Reserve Command.
