The 479th Tactical Hospital was a United States Air Force medical unit assigned to provide comprehensive medical support to the 479th Tactical Fighter Wing. Activated during the Cold War era, the unit was stationed at George Air Force Base, California, and played a critical role in maintaining the health and readiness of airmen and support personnel. The hospital provided both routine and emergency medical care, supporting operational deployments and exercises. Its dedicated staff contributed to the overall mission effectiveness of the wing until the inactivation of the unit alongside the base closure in the early 1990s.
