440th Airlift Wing

The 440th Airlift Wing is a reserve force unit of the United States Air Force located at Pope Field in North Carolina. The wing was initially established as the 440th Troop Carrier Group during World War II in 1943 and has since been redesignated as an airlift unit. The wing is equipped with the C-130 Hercules aircraft and provides tactical airlift support worldwide.
