**4300 (P) Bomb Wing (BW) Military History:** The 4300 (Provisional) Bomb Wing (BW) was an element of the United States Air Force established to support operations during the Gulf War in 1990-1991. Activated at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, the unit was composed primarily of B-52G Stratofortress bombers and associated support personnel, drawn from multiple Strategic Air Command bomb wings. The 4300 (P) BW played a critical role in launching long-range bombing missions against Iraqi military targets during Operation Desert Storm, contributing significantly to the air campaign’s effectiveness.
