The 407th Forward Support Battalion (FSB) was a key logistics unit in the U.S. Army, providing crucial supply, maintenance, and medical support to combat units. Activated in its current form in the late 20th century, the 407th FSB was assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The battalion played vital roles in operations such as Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom, ensuring that frontline troops received essential materiel and support. In 2006, as part of the Army’s modular transformation, the 407th FSB was reorganized and redesignated as the 407th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB).
