The 4002nd United States Army Hospital (USAH) was a Reserve medical unit stationed at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. Activated during the Cold War era, the 4002 USAH provided essential medical support and training for Army Reserve personnel, ensuring readiness for both stateside emergencies and overseas deployments. The unit participated in numerous field exercises and mobilization drills at Fort Chaffee, supporting large-scale troop movements and medical operations. Over the years, its mission evolved with changes in Army medical doctrine, playing a crucial role in the Reserve medical community until its eventual deactivation or reorganization in line with Army restructuring efforts.
