**400th Military Intelligence Squadron (400 MIS) Short History:** The 400th Military Intelligence Squadron (MIS) was activated in 1952 as part of the U.S. Air Force’s expanding signals intelligence capabilities during the early Cold War era. Tasked primarily with communications intelligence (COMINT) and electronic surveillance, the unit played a crucial role in monitoring and analyzing adversary transmissions throughout Europe and Asia. Over the decades, the 400 MIS supported numerous operations, including Vietnam, Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terror, providing timely intelligence to commanders. Today, the squadron continues its legacy by employing cutting-edge technology and highly trained analysts to support national security objectives worldwide.
