The 3918th Combat Support Group (CSG) was a United States Air Force unit primarily assigned to RAF Upper Heyford in England during the early years of the Cold War. Activated in the late 1950s, the 3918th CSG provided vital base operations support, including security, logistics, and maintenance, for USAF strategic and tactical units stationed at the base. The group played a key role in supporting the Strategic Air Command’s rotational bomber and reconnaissance missions as part of the U.S. commitment to NATO defense. In 1966, as part of USAF organizational restructuring in the United Kingdom, the 3918th CSG was discontinued, and its functions were absorbed by the 7506th Air Base Group.
