380th OMS

The 380th Organizational Maintenance Squadron (OMS) was an integral support unit within the United States Air Force, most notably assigned to the 380th Bombardment Wing. Activated during the Cold War era, the 380th OMS was responsible for maintaining the operational readiness of the wing’s aircraft, including the B-47 Stratojet and later the B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers. Stationed primarily at Plattsburgh Air Force Base in New York, the squadron played a crucial role in ensuring aircraft were prepared for nuclear deterrence missions during periods of heightened tension.
