The 36th Civil Affairs Battalion, a unit of the United States Army, was originally constituted on 25 August 1945 and has a legacy of supporting both combat operations and humanitarian missions worldwide. Throughout its history, the battalion has played a pivotal role in facilitating relationships between military forces and civilian populations, especially during deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan in the Global War on Terrorism.
