The 317th Security Police Flight (SPF) was a United States Air Force unit primarily tasked with providing security and law enforcement for airbase operations. Established during the Cold War, the 317th SPF was assigned to protect strategic airlift assets and personnel, frequently operating at bases associated with the 317th Airlift Wing. Members of the unit participated in numerous training exercises and deployments, ensuring readiness for both peacetime and contingency operations. The 317th SPF played a vital role in safeguarding critical resources until its mission and personnel were eventually realigned under broader Security Forces restructuring within the Air Force.
